Oppo Find X5 Pro vs. Oppo Find X5: Is Going Pro Really Necessary?

Design and Display

The two new OPPO phone models are almost identical in terms of design. However, there is a size difference. At 163.7 x 73.9 x 8.5mm, the Find X5 Pro is somewhat bigger but slimmer than the Find X5 at 160.3 x 72.6 x 8.7mm. It weighs 218g, compared to 196g for the Find X5.

Additionally, there are differences between the camera clusters and the backs of the two versions.

The camera cluster and rear of the OPPO Find X5 Pro have synchronized colors. Both black and white models include ceramic-finished backs that withstand abrasion well.

The Oppo Find X5 retains the camera module's basic asymmetrical form. But, the bulge is considerably less noticeable. Moreover, the module is a distinct component with a visible edge. The material used for the rear is skin-friendly microcrystalline glass.

Both models are available in black or white. Nonetheless, the Find X5 Pro comes in fancier-sounding "Ceramic White" and "Glaze Black" finishes.

The Find X5 Pro has a considerably more upscale display regarding the screen. At 6.7-inches and sporting a WQHD+ resolution, the AMOLED display is bigger and sharper than the 6.55-inch FHD+ display seen on the Find X5. Both have a refresh rate of 120 Hz. However, only the Pro is an LTPO panel that can drop as low as 1Hz where appropriate.

Both smartphones are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Specs and Features

The Oppo Find X5 Pro is powered by the Android world's most powerful processor at the moment, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Meanwhile, the Oppo Find X5 runs on the Snapdragon 888 from last year. This results in a slight edge for the Pro in CPU performance but a significant performance boost for the GPU.

According to reports, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor runs hot. Hopefully, a new multi-tier cooling system in the Pro, which is supposed to be 75 percent bigger than the previous version, will ward it off. Additionally, the Find X5 has a multi-tiered cooling system. This should improve performance and battery life.

Whereas the Find X5 Pro has 12GB of RAM, the Find X5 only has 8GB. Yet, both provide 256GB of internal storage. The two models run Oppo's latest ColorOS 12.1, built on top of Android 12. Oppo has incorporated Google's game-changing intelligent palette modification technology. As a result, you may style your menu buttons to match your chosen background.

Additionally, Oppo's upgraded 360° Smart Antenna 3.0 System is presented. For best 5G signal performance, it has automated antenna allocation and two always-on power amplifiers.

Camera

Oppo puts a lot of emphasis on the photographic skills of its two flagship phones, which have some fascinating commonalities.

They share the same triple-sensor configuration. It involves two Sony IMX766 image sensors (one for the wide camera and another for the ultra-wide camera), the same 13MP telephoto camera, and the same 32MP selfie camera.

However, there are several distinctions. The Oppo Find X5 Pro adds a new 5-axis optical image stabilization technology to its wide sensor. The company claims it would provide shot stability equal to the sensor-shift OIS technology seen on the iPhone 13.

Additionally, the Pro receives a new 13-channel spectral sensor in place of the Find X3 Pro's 5-channel RGBCW sensor. This allows for more precise color spectrum identification. Moreover, this should have a beneficial effect on the representation of skin tones and similar objects.

Battery and Charging

Both the Oppo Find X5 Pro and the Oppo Find X5 have much bigger batteries than the Oppo Find X5 from last year, which bodes well for battery life. The Find X5 Pro's battery is bigger at 5000 mAh, but the Find X5's 4800 mAh battery is still plenty enough.

Interestingly, the amount of charging cycles on the Oppo Find X5 Pro has been increased to 1600. Its battery will last twice as long as the average in the industry.

In terms of charging capabilities, both phones support 80W SuperVOOC charging. According to Oppo, it can charge the phone from 0% to 50% in only 12 minutes. The primary difference is in terms of wireless charging. The Oppo Find X5 Pro supports 50W, while the Oppo Find X5 only supports 30W. In any case, you'll want the appropriate AirVOOC dock.

Conclusion

Both of OPPO's latest phones are impressive devices. As a result, each device will have a unique set of possibilities depending on the user's requirements. The Oppo Find X5 is an excellent option for anyone searching for a small, powerful phone at an affordable price. And if you desire a large screen, a powerful processor, and the most up-to-date, you should immediately get the Oppo Find X5 Pro.
